Do some iron stains on a quartz crystal interfere or alter it's energies?

I am on the fence with purchasing a seven pound smokey quartz cluster. It has pretty and has excellent terminations however there are orange rust stains all around the base of the crystal.

Quartz is SiO2..and since Silicon is a metalloid therefore it has 4 electrons in its outer most shell The chemical bonds in silica are covalent.The basic building block of quartz is SiO4 unit this is how the structure looks . |O| - | - .O-Si-O. - | - |O| .
