In a fire when one is pulling a fire alarm why is it that a bystander might say to you break the glass and pull down if you know what to do? If you are pulling a fire alarm located outside and a bystander asks you is there a fire do you tell the bystanders before you pull the fire alarm that there is a fire and its not a prank. If a bystander asks you a question when you are pulling the alarm how do you respond if your are focusing breaking the glass etc?
They are in breach of fire regulations if not fixed within a reasonable time
There is no easy way, but there is a safe way. The awkward position and the wood framing create a dangerous situation. You may find hot solder dripping on you or a small fire starting under your floor. Make it easier by cutting the pipe at the least restrictive location. Install a welder's blanket behind the joint. Use a dilatectric union on both ends so you can screw the pipe in after the welding is done. A pipe cutter is available at many stores, but you have to rotate it around the entire pipe and that may not be possible in a tight spot. A reciprocating saw (Sawz-all) is the fastest easiest tool.
