Most all the above ground pools that i have seen atr in the yard but before sitting it up you first need to Bring in a couple loads of sand. And use that as a base for the pool if not the grass could grow into the pool putting holes in the bottom and that is not good/
I used to install above ground pools. Yes, you can put it on a concrete slab. As long as it is level. The other person is correct about the sand. You could use a product called vermiculite though. It will give a slightly spongy base. Besides the base you need to build a cove for the liner to ride down the side wall to the bottom. Pile the sand or vermiculite along the bottom track and make the cove about as long as your foot. In other words pack the cove on the corner with the tip of your shoe against the wall and the heel on the bottom at an angle. After the wall is built have someone unpack the liner and open it up in the grass. Spread it out with the walls laying inside. Refold the liner from two side towards the center. When you reach the center with bothe sides, flip one side on top of the other then roll the liner up from one end. This will allow ease of having the liner handed to you over the wall. Roll the liner out accross the pool bottom and flip out the sides towards the wall. Hang the liner over the wall evenly around the pool. Take a piece of cardboard and tape off the skimmer opening. Get a shop vac and put the suction hose in the return hole of the wall between the wall and the liner. Tape it all around the hose with duct tape. Turn the vacuum on and the shop vac will expel the air from between the wall and the liner and cause the liner to stick to the wall as if there was water in the pool. Kick out the wrinkles on the bottom towards the wall and start the water into the pool. Kepp the vac on until you have a couple of inches on the bottom. Fill up the pool and install the skimmer and return. Good Luck!
