Question:

Do you know any company that makes fancy wireless doorbells?

I we have a nice house and I am looking for a wireless door bell that matches our handles finish. It is kind of like a brushed bronze or oil rubbed bronze. I can't seem to find any. I have looked and jacon Jensen, friedmen, and bryon. Any ideas. Thanks

I volunteer for the Chicago Metropolitan Tenant Organization (MTO) and it is against the law for a Chicago Landlord to not provide you w/ smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector. My advice would be to first get your own and deduct it from your next month's rent. Provide the owner with a COPY of your receipt along with a CERTIFIED letter explaining you took the initiative to provide your own alarms since it was a safety hazard and violation of the Chicago Landlord Tenant Ordinance. Make sure you didn't sign a move-in checklist saying the apartment included a smoke carbon monoxide detector. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU NOTIFY THE LANDLORD IN WRITING!!!!!! PROVIDE A COPY OF THE RECEIPT AND YOU WILL BE GOOD TO GO. Menards have smoke detectors on sale pack of 2 for $15 and a carbon monoxide detector will be roughly $30-45.
No. Run it under the bed and staple Loosely or use tie wraps to hang it from the frame. Between, it could be damaged by movement short out and cause a fire !! Not a good idea.
Yes a heat pump reverses the function of an air conditioner. Like any refrigerant system if a Technician says it needs Freon, make sure the leak is repaired first. A valve is used to reverse the flow of Freon. In the heat mode, the high or hot side gas is pumped to the indoor unit, the low or cold side is pumped to the outdoor unit. The valve is reversed for the cool mode. Pumping cool gas to the indoor unit and hot gas to the outdoor unit.
