Rock on and Gloria al Metal
I do not respect a genre of music. Respect is a weird question too, in regards to music. I like a lot of music that I may not necessarily respect. To respect music I suppose you have to either respect their musical skills, their vocals or their song writing. Yet some music doesn't try to have great musical skills, or vocals or song writing. But I can still lke and enjoy this music. Perhaps put it this way, I respect Meshuggah but I don't like their music. I respect some metal bands and don't others. Respect is earned NOT given.
Yes. The definition of heavy metal has changed over the years, and it has split into various subgenres, but i still respect it as a form of music. In the late 60's heavy metal was rooted heavily in the blues, and bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath were called heavy metal. I don't know if younger people would consider their music to be heavy metal now.
Metal isn't really disrespected, metal fans just have a persecution complex.
some of the best musicians are in metal music. especially the most innovative over the past decade have come from the metal scene. and for people who dont like screaming there's plenty of great instrumental metal, animals as leaders, scale the summit, ect
I do, i listen to all music if it has meaningful lyrics to me... most of you think metal is loud and you cant hear what they say, you've obviously never even looked into metal... some songs can be quite emotional and soft with amazing lyrics.
