Question:

do you think these bearded dragon eggs are ok?

ok so my bearded dragons are almost 6 years old and they have had eggs before but i know breeders so i just give the eggs to him. and this time i kept the eggs, i have set up a incubator and the vermiculite with a ratio of 2:1 its damp but not soaked ! . there were layed on the 6 of january 2011 and its now the 28/1/11 and the eggs are starting to grow mould and crumply up. is there any expert advice which will help save these eggs. p.s there are 23 eggs and only three still look good. ive kept the heat at 83/85 F. but on the first day it went over that and got to 91.5 for an hour. would of this had a effect. the eggs still look good after that and only started to grow mould on about day 20. and i am going to add pics too :D

Answer:

Nutritionally, silkworm pupae would be fine to feed to your gecko, but he might not want to eat them because they won't be moving. You can try them out though! You can use vermiculite until it becomes discolored or starts to smell, just make sure to keep it moist, and watch it for anything that looks like mold. Make sure to throw it away before it starts growing anything, in order to keep you animals safe.
