I need to certify an application for replacement of my damaged Canada passport? Can anyone please confirm if a bank manager can complete the role of a notary public to certify the replacement application? Thank you for your time.
As a real estate investor who buys and sells properties without a real estate agent, I find myself needing the use of a notary public for my purchase agreements periodically. I have found the easiest way to find a notary is at a bank. If it is your bank, they may even do the notarizing for free, and some banks will do it complementary. At any rate, nearly all banks have a notary. If you do not have a branch of your particular bank available, call around to see who can give you the best rate to do the service.
Some do, some don't. Just call your bank and ask if there's a notary there that will seal your application. They will usually charge around $5.
If they don't, someone at the bank should. It is pretty common for a bank to offer this service. If not, any real estate escrow company will have a notary on staff, just call ahead and ask them for the service.
