i just now bought a new cbr 600rr 2011 model and was planning to install two brother exhaust,i‘m in bit of a confusion that does changing the bikes exhaust will effect its mileage or not (how much kilometer the bike gives per liter).please help me because i don‘t want to ruin my new bike
Aftermarket exhaust systems are the biggest-selling aftermarket accessories, for both cruisers and sportbikes. They have no effect on performance or gas mileage. Their ONLY purpose (usually) is to make the bike louder, to defeat DOT noise restrictions. Honda is famous for very conservative engineering. Their engines are mildly stressed, to give the best longevity and reliability. Racers know Honda engines can be tuned to put out 50% more HP (at the cost, of course, of reliability and longevity--but in serious racing you don't care about those things). But this means more than a different exhaust system.
i beleive that kn is a top of the line product and will do the best job from experience
Use the one that came with it. The difference in HP is minimal with those KN filters anyways. You will be lucky to grab 10 HP.
Only if you need to increase the jetting to keep the engine from burning too lean will there be any decrease in mileage and even than will it be insignificant. If you tend to drive faster because you really love the new roar, than yes mileage will drop.
Many times motorcycles are classed by the size of their engine . The larger the displacement(measured in cubic centimeters or cc's) the more powerful the engine and therefore the performance. The term liter bike has become a general descriptive term for a class of hi performance street bikes also know as sport bikes. These machines are derived from successful racing machines built by almost all of the current manufacturers . A liter bike of today would have been quite successful on the track less than 3 or 4 years ago. Liter bikes are for experts and very experienced riders. Performance of motorcycles these days are such that most street bikes of 600cc's or more are not for beginners.
