The answer unequivocably is, YES! All states in the US have adopted one of three code standards. IPC International Plumbing Code - UPC Uniform Plumbing Code - Southern States Building Code. The most common now is the IPC My licenses are AK, OR, WA, MT, WYO, OK, TX all of which have gone to the IPC. The code with the best picture clarification is the IAPMO Standards of the UPC. Although true not every plumber knows how to do a shower pan install, everyone should ask if this is something that they do. Even though people claim to know how to install a pan liner ( such as a tile installer ) I find they never pull a permit and do a test on the pan before doing their tile project. This is what leads to in many cases, to costly repairs to go back and properly install the pan liner. Many of the Youtube pan liner installs have some very good tile techs but they make unfounded claims. The pan liner on a shower is the actual plumbing fixture of this installation. I see them caulk the pan to the strainer with silicone and fail to glue the liner to the strainer with pan glue for a water tight connection. This glue is on the under side of the liner to the drain and is the portion that must be tested by inserting a balloon into the drain pipe under the floor and the liner filled to the threshold for inspection. Silicone will fail if not then over time. It is not designed for continued emersion in water. I do not see the use of glued corners at the threshold or having threshold or 1/2 walls sloped back to the shower. There is much more to the plumbing code that mentions these items that is covered both in the IAPMO Standards of the UPC and in the UBC code. In no case is there allowance for a special license by any other entity other than a home owner that a pan can be installed except by a licensed plumber.
I've never saw a smoke detector in an elevator, so no there is not one in the car, not the old ones anyway don't know about new ones. As others said there are some in the shaft.
For the most part yes. I'm guessing you are talking about the jowls males get when not neutered young. But it depends on the cat and the lines. We have a 4 yr old male that was neutered at 4 months old; his head and face had more of a round look as a kitten, so he looks like a male now. Our other cat was shown in championship and not neutered (with permission) till over a year old so he could develop more of the jowls. I'm glad he was not neutered young - he never would have had the jowls like he has now at 2 1/2 yrs old.
