Question:

Does regular insulation block sound?

Does regular thermal insulation block sound? I know there are different types of soundproofing insulation, but does regular insulation work at all? If so how well?

When it comes to insulation, you really do get what you pay forIf you want the best insulated home regardless of cost, spray foam would be the product of choiceThe reason is not because of higher R-values necessarily, but the ability to stop air infiltrationOther insulation materials are porous to air and won't seal the houseSpray foams act as both an insulator to prevent conductive heat flow and an airseal to prevent convective heat flow There are two types of spray foams.closed-cell polyurethane and open celled products such as IcyneneBoth are very effectiveThe closed cell foams offer a higher R-value per inch (approximately R-6.5-6.8 per inch) and can add rigidity and strength to the home because they are as hard as wood when installedHowever they can offgas a small amount over time, and because they are rigid, do not move with the house over time which can lead to separation from the substrate in some instancesOpen celled foams have a lower R-value per inch (R-3.6 per inch), but offer the benefit of being soft and being able to handle building movement without separating and losing the airsealThey are also waterbased which makes them very safe because there is no offgassing over timeAs far as sound control, the best products would either be an open celled foam (complete airseal and it is soft, helping to absorb sound) or a spray in cellulose product (airseal and good sound absorber)Closed cell foams perform pretty well also because of the airseal, but because they are so rigid, do not absorb sound as well as softer materialsIt's important to know that you will pay about 2.5-3 times the insulation cost for a foam insulated house as compared to standard fiberglassAlso, because of the tightness levels achieved with spray foam, you need to consider something like an air exchanger to bring fresh air into your house and purge out moist, stale airOtherwise, you could have an indoor air quality and/or moisture problem inside the houseHope this helps.
9 eggs 3 csugar 2 cans Carnation milk 3 tspvanilla Milk Blend eggs and sugarAdd Carnation and vanillaAdd milk to full line and freezeThen garnish it with cherriesVery simple, easy and tastes great.
beat 600 ml of cream, add 2 eggyolks,in a separate bowl beat 4 eggwhites to a peak with 2 tablespoons of castor sugar when done fold in with eggyolk and cream mix ad d any fruit flavour either in big chunks or mashed.mix with wooden spoon pour in form and refrigarate.good luck
here is a good recipe french vanilla ice cream ingredients 3 egg yolks 1 cup sugar 1 vanilla bean 1 and a 1/2 cups milk 2 cups cream, semi whipped method 1) beat the egg yolks and the sugar together using an electric beater 2) split the vanilla bean in half and scrape the seeds into the egg and sugar 3) gradually beat in the milk, add the vanilla bean 4) transfer the custard mixture to the top of a double boiler (a bowl sitting on top of a saucepan with a little bit of water in it) 5) stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of the spoon 6) remove from the heat and allow to cool 7) when custard mixture is cool, add the cream to the mixture and mix well8) pour mixture into an airtight container two thirds full seal and freeze until almost set (about 1 hour) 9) transfer mixture to food processor and process until smooth 10) return to freezer and re frigate overnight whats so good about this recipe is that the ice cream actually has a vanilla bean floating around in the mixture releasing it's flavours it has a much stronger and intense flavour than the bought stuff.
