Yes its always been a felony. Any kids that got away with it in school were lucky they were kids. People have been killed by others in a panic over false fire alarms. Pranks are not funny when people get hurt,
as you are the admin try this run in safe mode go to control panel then user accounts change your password leave it blank restart system normal sounds daft i know but it has worked for me friends system wouldn't let us do anything so i removed her password afterwards i ran a few checks like opened computer right clicked the drive selected properties then tools did scans also start select run and type in sfc /scannow then press enter if xp if vista win 7 start find command prompt under accessories right click and select run as admin in prompt window type sfc/ scannow then press enter
