Question:

Does the 100,000 mile warranty on Hyundais drivelines cover axles?

Im suspecting a bad axle on the 2003 Hyundai Accent that I JUST BOUGHT TODAY. I hear rocking and knocking noises when I turn mainly left, but also right turns. Will the 100K warranty on the driveline cover this, if it is the issue?

Answer:

Unfortunately, your entire warranty is now up. Hyundais carry a 5 year, 60,000 mile bumper to bumper. Yours is a 2003 so the warranty ended in 2008. The 10 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty is for original owners only - since you bought it used (and are at least the second owner) it no longer applies to the vehicle. But, to answer the original question, Yes, the powertrain warranty would cover the front axles, wheel bearings, transmission etc. in simple terms, anything that directly receives power to propel the car. However, if you bought it from a dealer, there should at least be a 30 day warranty where they will repair anything that goes wrong, unless you signed something waiving their responsibility. If you bought it from an individual on an 'as-is' basis, the repairs will have to come out of your pocket.
lol how did u manage to stuff your axle up.
I would think it would, however if you bought it from a dealer warranty or not they should make it right being as you just bought it. If you bought private party you are likely on your own and not sure if the warranty transfers or not, but if it does your local Hyundai dealer should be able to fix you up, I just can't imagine the warranty not covering axles.
