I ordered the seemingly correct part but its longer than the original control cable. Is it usable?
Yes it should fit perfectly.Check the part number and if it,s still too long ,check that it,s properly installed.If neither solves the problem then You should bring it to a approved shop and have Them check it out.
It should work just fine. You can even make a gentle loop in it to get it out of the way.
