I am shopping for new windshield wipers, and I don‘t know what size to get. If i get longer ones, will it increase my visibility at all?OR if you have a reccommendation for me, my car model is a 1994 Honda Civic EX. :) Thanks!
This is a common problem with cars that don't get washed regularly. First of all you need a paint razor spray your windshield with glass cleaner then go over it while its wet with a paint razor make sure its a new razor or close to it as to avoid scratching it. This will get that residue off it completely, if you don't razor it you will only smear the dirt all over it using a window cleaner so i suggest you razor it first. After you've done that wipe it off with news paper then clean your windshield as normal using newspaper again keep changing the newspaper every-time it gets dirty once you have done that your glass will be crystal clear, change your wipers then see the massive difference. if you do this correctly you will not need rainx . Rainx is just a temporary fix this is a complete fix. good luck
I recommend you get Triple edge wipers. They don't chatter,Won't tear and have a lifetime warranty on them. They will be the last set of wipers you'll ever have to buy for that vehicle. Once in a while you may need to take a sponge and clean off the blade a little.Sap and debris will cause the wiper to not make proper contact on the wind shield if too much gets built up on them but that's all you'll have to do when they start to not wipe correctly. They are also silicone impregnated keeping them from chattering and also makes water bead up and roll off the windshield like rain X. Stay with the recommended size wipers. If you go to larger wipers they will slap the edge of your windshield and will eventually tear or break. Your driver side wiper is 22 And the passenger side is 18. The auto parts store will replace them for free if you buy them there.
the alarm may be set on a high sensitivity. if you have the manual you may be able to adjust it, or other wise, look for a manual online, or take it back to the place it was installed.
Yes, the length of your wipers makes a big difference! The wipers are a certain length for your car, longer wipers would probably hit each other. It's a matter of timing. I would recommend either going to an auto parts store a asking the clerk. Or, and this is my choice, you could go to Wal-Mart in the automotive dept. and look at the reference book that they should have and find the listing for your car. There are a number of brands and styles of blades to choose from. You might consider a triple bladed wiper that helps remove mud, etc. Also check out a product called Rain-X, it causes rain, mud, and virtually everything else to slide right off. Just follow directions.
