i want to get a new laptop just for the sims 3. my dad went to best buy and the worker there said that the sims 3 is especially made for computers/desktops and isnt made for laptops. i want to know if you have a laptop and if the sims 3 works on it? and do you think that its true?
well i guess if they say it wont work on laptops it might not but i don't think a game can tell the difference

Contrary to what the other poster said.most laptops are not better than desktops. They are portable, yes, but for power and speed, no laptop will ever beat a desktop. But to answer your question, yes, if you buy a brand new laptop. it should run. What you should do first before buying is print out the system specs from teh sims 3 website and take that to where ever you plan to buy the laptop and compare specs. However, my word of advice would be to buy a laptop for work. buy a PC for play. A game won't be able to say Oh this is a laptop, so I can't run this game!! what it will do is look at the hardware the computer has and determine if it will run on that or not. So regardless of a laptop or desktop, if you have a video card from 2001, you are not going to run the game.
dont buy the laptop for the sims 3. it way better on desktops. the laptop wont be able to handle it.
