I have one electric smoke detector in my house, and it keeps beeping every min or so. I replaced the back up battery and it still does it. The detector came with the house so I have no manual to trouble shoot, also I cant even figure out how to disconnect the alarm from the wiring on the back. I have tried to pull the wires out, but they appear to be perm attached.
Absolutely. You should read up on the History of Benjamin Franklins Lightning Rods and the opposition they aroused among the religious. abob.libs.uga.edu/bobk/whitek04.h The common religious belief before Franklin was that lightening was controled by Satan who was the Prince of the Powers of the Air. Funny stuff.
The battery will not drain when your outlet is powering the detector. When you lose your electricity (AC) then the battery will start being used automatically. If you use only the battery to power your detector it will work as a regular battery powered detector. (it will drain neither faster or slower than a normal battery powered unit) When the battery gets low, it will sound a short beep about every 2 hours to warn you that you need to replace the battery.. that short beep will continue for a few days or until you replace the battery.
