I recently bought some EMG JHZ pickups for my bass, and I'm trying to wrap my head around how I should solder them to my control panel. On the instructions that came with it, they make no use of the black and white cables in any of the diagrams. I'm not too sure if I'm reading it wrong or they designed it so I don't need to use them?
Ok, the problem with your diagram is that it doesn't use EMG's color codes. Email the support team at EMG and they will shoot you out the diagram (link below). Im not sure what your second question is referring to. I think you mean the 3 legs of the volume pot or tone pot. Check the second link below for that answer.
Hi, Use all the cables. Red and white + or Signal Black and green - or Earth wire up each pick up via a volume control The control with the capacitor is for tone Follow diagrams for guitar most like yours.
