Question:

I have a diesel engine that will not start, new fuel, and either but it will not fire, any ideas?

engine is on a generator with about 800 hrs. changed fuel and fuel is getting to cylinder, pulled valve cover and valves are moving like they should, sprayed either in air intake and still no pop. any ideas other than to scrap the engine

Answer:

TO; answer your question Iam need to know if by accident you filled fuel tank with gasoline / or any other liquid//
take it to a mechanic? how do you know there is fuel getting to the right spot? glow plugs?
Does it have glow plugs for start-up? If so, they might be fouled out and in need of replacement.
Either needs a little fuel present to combust properly in an engine. If there isn't any, either won't do anything except make the engine spin over faster. Double check to make sure the injector pump is supplying fuel to the injectors.
What brand of Diesel engine is it? If it is a Detroit Diesel try resetting the air box lever.
