I would like to make my exhaust system sound better on my mustang. I wish it was a GT but it isn‘t. It‘s a 97. I live in hawaii and there are little to no laws about exhaust systems I dont know much about exhausts.I would like a cheap job done and with decent results.So I‘m thinking. -Running Straight pipes.-Catback.-Take off resonator.There might be a better idea out there. I dont know much. Anyone can help give good advice?
I suggest a catback exhaust from Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Borla, etc. is your best bet. Don't run straight pipes or an eliminator pipe - it will make the V-6 sound like a piece of crap, like an old beater that needs new mufflers!

ahh get some thrush rapid mufflers sound sturdy yet quiet $40 somewhat then get some exhaust tubing pre bent at a save maybe $30. Now in case you have a storage deploy a kit all of it truly relies upon on what they sense like charging.
You will basically be paying ten bucks plus three bucks shipping for around 15 cents worth of metal. It's just cheap electroplating over copper or brass.
Generally speaking, you get what you pay for - if you want a cheap job, you're not going to get good results. V6's tend to sound raspy (more like imports) because of the smaller engine so what makes a GT sound awesome could make your V6 sound more like a Honda than anything. As a fellow V6 owner, the best recommendation I can give you is to go with a true dual (not a y-pipe) exhaust setup with chambered mufflers. Straight pipes will have poor sound quality and can negatively affect your car's performance. Resonators are going to have that high-pitched raspy sound as well.
