Answer:

The wheels are four representing the 4 Gospels going to the 4 directions of the earth. This is why they are 4. They roll into the whole earth, this can only be done if they can go into all directions, the two wheels that intersect each other makes this possible are the Old and New Testaments, for without them there is no testimony of the Gospels, they had eyes all over as the Word of God can perceive all things even the hearts of all. They sparkled like beryl as they are pure and true. Also they have the same Spirit the Spirit of Truth so they move as one. In the Greek Septuagint it names them as Gelgel (They are a type of angel). By the river Chebar in the land of the Chaldeans during the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s exile, Ezekiel envisioned Jehovah riding upon a swift-moving chariotlike celestial vehicle. Its four wheels had rims filled with eyes, and within each wheel was another wheel apparently at right angles, making it possible to go forward or to either side without changing the angle of the wheels. Beside each wheel was a cherub, the cherubic living creatures and wheels moving in unison as they were directed by the spirit. (Eze 1:1-3, 15-21; 3:13) The following year, Ezekiel had a similar vision, this time being transported, evidently by the spirit of inspiration, to a place before the temple that Solomon had built in Jerusalem. The vision that he saw indicated that soon that city and the temple would be destroyed in execution of Jehovah’s judicial decision. (Eze 8:1-3; 10:1-19; 11:22) Some 60 years thereafter, Daniel envisioned the Ancient of Days, Jehovah, seated upon a heavenly, wheeled throne. Both throne and wheels were aflame, suggesting the approach of fiery divine judgment upon world powers.—Da 7:1, 9,?10; Ps 97:1-3.
This was interesting: God is a God of ceaseless activity and yet He is always perfectly at rest. This is because His activity flows from His purposes in eternity where everything is already perfectly accomplished. The four living creatures had the likeness of a man. Man was made to reflect the purposes and glory of God in his activity. The four faces of the living creatures represent the four faces of man ( four purposes, direction or focus. ) The wheel beside each creature represents the particular activity associated with each of the four faces of man in the earth. The noise of the wings of each creature is first the activity in the spirit realm, and the noise of the wheels beside them is the corresponding activity in the natural realm. They are to work together, side by side, and not independently of each other. The wheels of activity are not meant to spin outside of My presence. My presence abides within the wheels of activity. It is only when My spirit lifts and you remain in your activity that the wheels spin out of control and produce nothing. I am the cog that is to spin your wheels. I am the wheel within the wheel. When My Spirit lifts, the wheels must lift with Me. Even your doings must be in My presence, and not just your times of waiting on Me. Nothing is hidden from His sight. The rim of each wheel is full of the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. ( Heb. 4:13 ) The Four Faces Man - Adam, son of earth. Natural responsibilities. Family obligations. Lion - Kingdom authority. Spiritual gifts and ministry. Ox - A man's labour. Eagle - The spiritual dimension of a man's life. Prayer.
