Question:

Fast, reliable motorcycles under $10,000?

I want to purchase a motorcycle to add as a daily driver, but I know not the first thing about them. What are some of the fastest, most reliable motorbikes in the under $10,000 market? I can buy used if necessary to meet that point. Also, I‘m 18; how‘s insurance on the wallet? Average gas mileage? Cost of upkeep?.Anything else.

Answer:

Dude I seriously have no knowledge on my bike either I have a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and I don't even know if it has a tube or not but I doubt it has because cars these days don't even have tubes. Sorry I couldn't help
We all have our views and I know others wont like my answer id go for a 300zx (manual of course) or a cheap Integra gsr and mod it. They are VERY cheap to mod and have very low repair bills. They get good MPGs and dont look half bad either. Yeah they are FWD but it has a very reliable and flexible motor snd VERY wode aftermarket support. The only downside depending on where you live itll be hard to find a good unmolested one. Dont buy a modified one already. Where I live, good tegs are rare. Al of the ones I normally see are salvage titled or uber high miles or have been molested. If you can find an old rx7 thats a cool car too of your into rotary. I just depends on what you consider to be fast and stylish. Reliablity is key

Here is a suggestion, Make a list of all the motorcycles being suggested and contact an insurance company for rate quotes on said motorcycles. Then you will get an idea of how insurance works and which motorcycles are expensive (sport bikes) or less expensive (Kawasaki KLR 650 for example). You need the fastest motorcycle? Why? If you are using a motorcycle for a daily driver, there is NO need for a motorcycle that will top out between 150 mph and 175 mph. Fastest speed limit in the nation is 80 mph. That means you will be riding a fast bike slow. Here is a suggestion. Shop around for a used Suzuki DL-650 V-Strom. Buy one with saddle bags and trunk if possible. Can be had for around $4,500. Another $1,000 for insurance. Another $1,000 for riding gear. Then after riding for a year or so, use the remaining $3,500 for a long road trip. No better way to see the country than from the seat of a motorcycle. Beware, tires do not last long on motorcycles. 6K to 10K miles is about all a tire will last compared to 50K on most car tires. I change oil more often on the motorcycles due to the oil being the source of lubrication of both the engine and the clutch/transmission. Invest in a quality set of rain gear.
