what is the best way to fcaw 22 gauge sheet metal i seem to have a problem with blow through and keeping consistent beads i have all the settings on low
Move faster or use a lighter wire.
There is no best way. Too thin of metal for fcaw (flux core) welding. Been there, dont that. I got started on a 80/85 amp flux core machine. I hated that POS. It was only good to weld thicker steel. I now have a hobart 140 amp mig. I can turn it down to 40 amps and use a .023 wire, weld 24 ga. no prob with out blowing holes in it You can try to use a .030 wire (smallest flux core wire I know of), use a flattened out copper pipe behind your work to back it up. Set your wire speed higher (if like most fcaw machines it has a 0-10 dail for speed) use about a 5 speed, Use a faster gun travel, use your lowest heat setting and hope for the best
