Question:

Finding new gaskets for glass jars with metal clamps to keep lid down?

Old school, like people used to keep on their kitchen counters. The glass jars last forever, as do the metal rigging to clamp the lids down, but where can I find the plastic gaskets to replace the old ones? Or could I just make new ones out of leather?

no. the 'stock' alarm system uses a multiplex unit to determine if the interior, engine compartment or trunk have been opened without the alarm first being shut off. their is no provision to add circuits to the multiplex to integrate new sensors into the decision making process. multiplex units use the same wire for multiple signals. you can't cut and splice into those lines arbitrarily or you'll disrupt the communications paths. hope that helps
