Question:

fire vs heating question?

As my house is getting cold I have been using the gas fire in the living room in the evenings as I spend most of my time in there.I do this to save money as I don't need to heat the whole house up.However, I've heard recently that using a gas fire can cost more than heating the whole house up with the central heating. Is this true?

Answer:

Running your fan is fine during a thunderstorm. Most homes are grounded to protect against lightning strikes.
Sounds like you are indeed in over your head. We tend to steer clear of those type installations. The wires can be repaired, but the kits tend to be expensive and it's not real easy to do.
