I am interested and curious to know your opinion about Freedom of press.I am writing an essay about freedom of press but I am not sure what side to pick.it's an argumentive essay - do you think the government has the right to set restrictions when it comes to freedom of press?I can't decide which side I should pick. I need at least 3 examples or reasons why the side I picked is correct. You could try the Vietnam War. It is generally accepted among military analysts of the period that the US could have won (given superior technology and the fact that the US won every major engagement) had easy media access to the war by way of embedded reporters in the field not showered the American public with pictures of death and destruction night after night. Of course, something like this is touchy (some would argue that that was a good thing - you'll need to write a rebuttal for that), so if you're going to use it, be careful.
i personally don't think that the gov't should get involved with our freedoms as american citizens. we (as a whole) should be able to respect and not abuse the rights that we have. thus NOT giving the gov't a reason to use restrictions. we as people have every right to know what's going on in the world. no group (gov't ran or not) should have a right to deminish peoples rights. i hope this helps give you prospective on the situation**
why dont you do one just simply stating the pro's and con's of EACH! It has to be one or the other? Thats sh*t! when you talk about a childs safety and national security, the obvious seems it would be reasons to LIMIT freedom of press. umm.... sh*t... I'm thinking..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! holy crap!
