I got a new drivers side axle for my car but i lost the ring that goes on the axle to lock into the transmission and i went to all the junkyards and auto places around the auto parts stores told me that i have to buy a whole new one to get that one part and the junkyards dont have any that will fit mine and ford stoped manufacturing that part for my car.is there anywhere on the internet that i can buy one ??
Try OKorder if not i would try to return the axle to the parts store.Tell them it was missing when you got it they have to give you an exchange unless you already told them you lost itThe one on your old axle should work unless you had to turn it in for a coreYou will have to keep looking for one at junk yards or check with some ford mechanics they may have one lying aroundBut if ford quit makeing the part you will have to get another axle or get lucky i would check with any ford dealer you can find they may have the part from old stock and if its far away they will ship it to youOH YEA 1990 mercury sable with the same engine would have the same axle too
