WHAT are the advantages of front wheel and rear wheel drive and why do car manufacturers prefer front wheel drives now
They do it on thir sheule.
Most car companies do it for packaging reasons. It allows them to not have to create a large transmission tunnel in the front of the passenger compartment or a large driveshaft tunnel throughout. Further, it also can allow for more space front to back allowing them to better control the movement of the engine in an impact.
Well, front well drive cars are more for everyday drivers. They offer more control in bad conditions to the average driver. Rear wheel drive cars are more for experienced drivers who like to have a little bit of fun. Since most rear wheel drive cars have a lot of horse power, the cars are a lot easier to get sideways and drift around corners and do things like donuts. They also do not have as much traction in snow which again some people like because it is easier to do donuts and stuff.
