When my toyota camry (2001, auto, 4cyl) check engine light is on, I got it scanned and found it out there is something wrong with fuel evaporation control system. where should I start to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.
Make sure you shut the engine off when refuelling. Also make sure the fuel cap is on tight . This is the most common cures for this type of code set in most vehicles If this does not cure the problem problem a broken vacuum line, or any other hose that is connected to the evaporate emission system, or the carbon canister itself. Believe me I know . I have a 2001 Ford Grande Marquis that does this every 2 months or so and I have spent over 2 grand trying to fix it, now Ford says it might be weather conditions???
take it to some who specializes in toyotas...there can be a few problems related...not tryin to be an *** but what does ur docotor say when u say...i dont feel good what can i do? someone has to look at ur car
I agree with the others but sometimes a new gas cap is in order to get the seal correct
Your motor vehicle has a charcoal canister that absorbs gasoline fumes from the gasoline tank on an identical time because it extremely is sitting in the nice and comfortable sunlight in the parking zone. once you initiate the motor vehicle a purge valve opens and applies manifold vacuum to the canister to do away with the fumes and likewise purge fumes from the tank itself on an identical time as you shuttle. The code you have shows that the plumbing in touch in this technique has a leak in it some place. This leak is with regard to the size of pin prick. with the intention to discover this leak you prefer a gadget that that produces smoke and pressurizes this technique. The gadget sells for sort of $one thousand.00 (OUCH). Take the motor vehicle to a save that has the procedures for the interest. Sorry! by way of fact of this I in no way plan to purchase a motor vehicle equipped after 1995 for my own use.
Check to make sure the gas cap is on securely. More than just on. Lots of clicks. Most commen check engine light for EVAP. Seen many times...And so many frustrated customers to waste money on that code. Good luck.
