Question:

Garden soil.what is, hands down, the best?

Im growing all kinds of stuff, not sure if certain soil differs.but is there some kind of soil that just stands out from the rest? Thanks.

Answer:

My opinion is amended native soil. You can add compost, peat moss, chopped up leaves, and sand to your native soil. Since the roots of plants spread, and some go deeper than others, it is best to have them bedded in the native soil which has been amended for better growth. Don't forget to fertilize according to the plants needs and time.
Supersoil is best for any plants that like it rich. But for plants that prefer less rich soil, the store brand at any big box store will do. Depends on what you're planting. If it's too rich, you'll get more foliage at the expense of flowers, for example, like with cosmos. If you want to make lighter soil richer, just add spent coffee grounds, eggshells, or grass clippings.
