Question:

Going over high speed bumps?

I drive a 95 BMW M3. When I go over most speed bumps I am ok but a few time I go over and hit the bottom of my car. Yesterday I went over one slowly and i heard a pretty loud scratch. After that i kept driving and when i started gassing I hear and feel a vibration near the middle of the car, under my seat. Could this be really bad?

Answer:

The guy who mentioned the skirts is a very smart guy. Not only will air flow under there make it difficult to heat, but you certainly are using water and the toilet? Those pipes or hoses can freeze and you need to address that. Truly, I wonder if there is a better alternative for you to live in? What about even a furnished room someplace? If this is the only thing for you to consider, why not have a conversation with a reputable motor home dealer in your area. They probably have all the answers. Also, we own these portable heaters that we love and we use them in a summer cottage that is open three seasons. They work well and are very save. They are electric and look like old fashioned radiators and they are somewhat energy efficient. They have oil inside them that heats up. Might work temporarily at least. I wish you the best of luck. I'm really sorry about the fire.
Sounds like you better have a few thousand dollars lined up to pay fines and damages.
No, the threat is minor. The recent meeting of scientists in Paris predicts minor problems from it, although they do try very hard to make the rather mild prediction that are making sound as terrible as possible. The estimates are for about 5 degrees temperature rise and 1 foot sea level rise in 100 years. Not very scary. They say bad weather will get worse (storms, droughts and so on), but never really try to back that up with numbers, because they don't have any. It is just a scare tactic. No, the reason to find an energy source other than oil is because the Arabs have all the oil.
