I have a syrian hamster named tia and she has a regular silent spinner syrian wheel. I think the wheel is too small for her since she doesn t get on it. Occasionally I see her on it but she is just walking and it looks as if she is too big for the wheel. In result, she bites on her cage and is slightly on the fat side.
Maybe she is too lazy to use it? I have a guinea pig, and he won't do much exercising, he would much rather lay down and eat his hay whilst lying down. When he is biting on the cage, he usually wants me to pet him, or give him some lettuce. Maybe get her something she can chew?
Some dont like wheels and if u think it is too small get a bigger one. But if she dont like wheels then u need to get alot of interactive toys that require climbing ect. So she doesn't become obese
Get her a bigger wheel. Silent spinners, I assume yours is a 6in and not a 12, are way too small. If she's really big you may consider a 12 inch wheel, if she's just a little too small go for a 8in Comfort Wheel. Good luck!
