has anyone tried the fire hydrant shower head? did it make water pressure better?
Generally you won't get good results with butterflies. The scales come off really easy. In addition iridescent colors rely on interaction between air and scale and if you replace the air with resin, those types of color will usually go away. It can be done, but it's a fairly lengthy procedure and can require some toxic material. You need to replace water and/or air inside the insect with the resin. The main problem with embedding insects into resin is that the resin shrinks a bit upon curing. If there is air still in the insect it's likely to come out and then you won't see the insect clearly through the resin. If you are still interested you should check out resin embedding methods for biological tissue (e.g. for transmission electron microscopy). It's basically the same procedure.
