Question:

Have you heard of System Access Control?

I think it has to do with an application or database that traxks all the user rights across several different applications. I suppose a financial institution would know about this, as they want to make sure just any user has access to important information. Any insight on this?? anyone use this type of software? I am looking to do teh same.. not to be confused with NAC (Network Access Control).

Answer:

The next time this happens you call the police. The alarm might not be a due to fire. The alarm systems trip on a signal from a sensor, such as a fire sensor, smoke sensor, door sensor, window-break sensor, motion detector sensor, etc. Sensors can trip falsely and thus there is no real alarm situation. If the police officer investigating sees an open or broken door or broken window or some other sign of entry into the building, he or she will call for backup to conduct an investigation. Otherwise : Every city has ordinances about alarm systems whose bells or sirens can be heard past the property line and the owner of the alarm system can be fined for failure to turn off the noise. However, I don't think the police are going to bust into a building to turn off the alarm. I think they would have to contact a judge and get a warrant to do that. Some sirens can be incredibly loud and annoying and would definitely be disturbing the peace at night. I suggest you go to a police station and ask about what they do in their jurisdiction for this kind of situation. Many years ago glass-break sensors that were attached to windows would trip after loud thunder, because the thunder would cause the glass to strongly vibrate at the frequency the sensor was sensitive to. The bigger the glass, the more easily it was tripped. Infrared motion detectors will trip when detecting a rapid change of temperature. If a window is not covered well by shades, when the sunlight begins to stream in through the window as the sun moves across the sky, the sudden change in temperature caused by the sunlight hitting the floor or objects could trip the infrared detector. Smoke detectors will trip on invisible smoke from a toasting heating a slice of bread. Really annoyed me when I brought a toaster into a cubby area to prepare many slices of toast there. And smoke detectors in bedrooms will probably trip on cigarette smoke.
First you need to confront your ex wife and let her know what your daughter has told you and listen to her side of the story. Have you met the boyfriend yet because you do have a right to meet him especially if he is living in the same home as your daughter and let him know where you stand. If your ex wife takes the boyfriends side then that's something to worry about and let her know you will be seeking the advice of an attorney in this matter. You don't want your daughter growing up believing it's OK for men and women to argue in a violent manner and that's it is not OK for men to put there hands on a women . Good luck with everything.
