Having problem with neighbor lighting a fire grill on porch have row homes which is a fire hazard what can I stop them from doing it again?

If it is more than 10 years old it needs replaced and it may be the end of life warning most even cheap detectors will do it, to let you know to replace the unit. So if you don't want it annoying you for now take the battery out, but your best/safest option is to replace it only a couple screws hold it on to the wall or ceiling.
