i have to hold in my brights to have any lights while i drive.
Instead of pulling the switch toward you, try pushing it away. That is how Toyota works. Yours might be exactly opposite. If this comes to be true, your 'secret' is good with me.
You head light switch may be bad. When you say hold in, do you mean flash to pass. Hear light are double wired. One wire for bright, din and one for flash to pass. If that is what you are having to do, ckeck the head ligth switch, dinner switch, and fuse or circuit breaker. I have had the pass thrugh connector on the firewall go bad, but i do not think this is it this time.
The switch is broken on the column will have to be replaced...
