there is also fiberglass and carbon fiber. carbon is lighter in weight than metal, but stronger.
There are some wooden cars, yes.
i think all cars are made 75% metal and 25% plastic
Modern production cars all have both. Metal is used for the frame, engine, transmission and other parts. It is often used for body panels too. Plastic goes into a lot of the interior.
The bodies of almost all cars are metal. Most cars are made of steel. Some steel cars have aluminum hoods, trunks, or doors. Some cars have plastic fenders. Many Saturn vehicles have plastic outer door panels and quarter panels. Some pickup trucks have plastic bedsides. Some full-size vans have plastic hoods. Carbon fiber is used for hoods on a few vehicles. Inner structures are almost all steel. A few cars are aluminum. The front radiator support on an F-150 is made of magnesium. Many newer cars have plastic radiator supports or ones that are a combination of plastic and metal. There's not really any advantage to using plastic at this time except that it doesn't rust or corrode like steel and aluminum. Plastic body parts cost and weigh about the same as steel ones.
