Question:

help about fire alarms? help!?

my fire alarm just went off and i dont see smoke or firecould it be a faulty fire alarm?

Answer:

Probably the detector itself is bad. They do have a shelf life of about 5 years.
Hard for such a motion sensor to track an object, because the cat's own motion would make everything move, confusing the sensor. I don't know of any inexpensive device that would work. Possibly a thermal imager camera could track a the hottest heat source in the video image. Seek Thermal makes a very small USB thermal imager for smartphones (about $250.00).
Throw baking soda or salt on the fire. If its in a pan put a lid on it to snuff it out.
