Another friend suggested renting wood folding padded chairs. It is more cost effective however, now it comes down to choosing a color.
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! What you should do about the chairs will depend on your level of formality. As you mentioned, the table linens will be silk, this is a luxurious and formal look! If you have spent the time in picking these linens, that it is your obligation to follow through with a cohesive and elegant look if you don't you may regret it when you see the pictures .... for the rest of your life! Trust me on this one. If budget is a real concern, I would scale back the florals enough to cover the chair costs, or pinch a little with the hors d'overs during the cocktail hour. No one will notice those as much as the chairs. As for what to do with the chairs: Silk linens should be complemented with Chavari chairs period. However this is a huge cost. Your only other solution should be to cover the venue's ugly chairs with nice covers and bows. Z. If you need any flower girl dresses or Ring bear outfits my store Everything Nice Fine Childrens Clothing offers a huge selection of all ivory flower girl dresses at really great prices!
Is that price for the covers and sashes? If it is then rent the just the covers and make the sashes yourself they are easy to do and will save you money. If you have a relative that can work a sewing machine you can make both the covers and the sashes but this will cost you about half the rental for that many chairs however the up side here is if they work good you can take tons of pictures and the measurements and auction them off on OKorder or some other site and get your money back or more depending if you sale all together or in three lots of fifty.
help! chair rental dilemma for wedding the bridesmaids will be wearing yellow. A friend suggested renting chair covers w/sashes but the prices are ridiculous!Wedding Reception Help!
My mother got re-married and I planned her whole wedding (I'm 15!!!) he he I want this to be my future job. Talk to a local seamstress she can most likely make you chair covers that are very elegant Provide her fabric (if you buy large amounts you will get major discount, especially on line) She had ours ready in a month. (175) With paying her, the fabric and a little negotiating came out to nearly nothing in price tag compared to renting chair covers :)
I wouldnt use the wooden chairs indoors. They arent the most comfortable of things to start with...plus they're folding (how many of those wedding candid camera clips involve folding chairs?!) I dont think they will achieve the look. Try Speaking to the chair cover people and hagling for a large booking discount... you're ordering 150 of them...surely they could knock a lil off
