Question:

HELP! GTP windshield wipers stuck in upright position!!?

My fiance‘ and I have a 98 GTP and whenever we use the wipers and then shut them off they park in the UPRIGHT position on the windshield making it very annoying and pretty much hard to see. We replaced the wiper motor and everything and it is still continuing to do so. It is to the point where we have to pop the fuse out of the fuse box in the glove box at the right time to make them park in the right position. Once it starts to rain, we have to pull over and fuss with the fuse and put it back in and keep it on delay. It seems as if the wipers don‘t do there full cycle either. Any suggestions to what may be the problem? And if so, any way I could fix it myself? Please Help!

Very, particularly difficulty-free difficulty. bypass to the Pontiac broking and the clerk will attain down under his counter and hand you a substitute wiper park change as he possibly has some in inventory. undesirable high quality change that fails oftentimes i'm sorry to declare.
There is a spring loaded park mechanism that is frozen. You need to remove the wiper arms, the cowl, and the plastic cover over the park mechanism on the motor. Soak it down with PB Blaster penetrating oil. Inspect the metal tab that the spring lever should stop against to make sure it is not too low. Run the motor and park it to see how it works.
