I am making a van de graff generator as a project. It's hard to find a rubber band in my location so i am using a band of PVC electrical tape instead of a rubber band.At one end,on the motor side i have rubber band wrapped around the shaft and on the other end i have a glass tube. The motor runs fine and the tape band also runs quite smooth and fine. But it's not producing a single spark. Please help me.What should i do?What's my mistake? Thanks in advance.
AM OOKING FOR THE SAME THING THERMOPLASTIC RESIN POWDER IT'S HARD TO FIND
These are probably ionization-type smoke detectors. They are more sensitive to cooking odors than are photoelectric-type. Try cleaning them by blowing air through them, maybe with a hair dryer on cold or cool. If that doesn't help, look up the model number and manufacturer and go on the Internet to find out their cleaning instructions. If there is an exhaust fan in the kitchen, using it may help. Perhaps the landlord would be willing to replace them with photoelectric. Actually, replacing just the one nearest to the kitchen might do the trick.
I have the same problem. I started putting a shower cap over the detector whenever I cook. Super easy.
