Question:

Help on installing air intake?

I need help installing an air intake for a 99 corolla. I have everything I need I jet don‘t know how to put it together or where these hoses connect to. Thanks

Answer:

take a look at the air filter housing on your car, follow it to the inner fender under the hood, this is a true cold air intake. That collection of sewer pipe with an air filter stuck to it does not help much, it is rated by using wot or wide open throttel for its 1.2 hp. In order to get the hp rating you have to run around at wide open throttle, thats not going to happen. Check with your trusted mechanic about bolt on anything, another waste of money is power chips. none of this stuff has proven any benefit to stock engines, and can actually do more harm then good, often popping on check engine lights, and then they come here and ask us what to do. Always do your research first, before you buy. and always check with your trusted mechanic.
It should be self-explanatory looking at the factory intake (if it's not a universal intake). Usually they come with some form of instruction for installation but you really shouldn't need it because as I stated before it is completely self-explanatory unless it's a fender well cold air intake (kn has SOME) which I doubt it is on a corolla.
