Well most have a gauge on them that depict internal pressure, if it's okay you're good to go. But chances are after a few years most lose pressure, and then it's time to toss it.
its probably no good, you should test them once a year to make sure they workeven if the pressure gauge shows it has pressure, after 20 years i doubt its gonna be any good. after a certain amount of time they need to be recharged
