Rockfish has it right go to your local hardware store and buy a patch that would the size needed to cover the hole. If very large hole like say a foot in diameter maybe best to replace the piece of sheetrock.
In a CO2 extinguisher the liquid CO2 is about 750 to 800 psi at 70 degrees F. The propellant is the gas itself. ANY amount of liquid present will exert this amount of pressure on the walls of the cylinder in the form of vaporized CO2 gas. Since a leaking CO2 unit will read FULL on the guage even if there are only a few ounces of CO2 left, the guages are omitted so that people don't get a false sense of security from a nearly empty unit. The only TRUE way to check if a CO2 unit is full is to check the weight.
They are, on some, but this makes them more expensive, and therefore a less popular choice, so the real money is in the basic models.
