Question:

Home-made speed bump?

We put fence around our yard a few years back and have 2 big metal gates, i guess you'd just call them farm gates, for easy access with trucks because i'm starting a plant nursery. There's a pretty good-sized gap under one, and 1 of my 5 dogs has managed to escape under it a few times now, and that's something i can't have because he's a hunting breed and has killed animals before. I was thinking that if we made something similar to a speed bump under the gate, it would keep him from squeezing under it, yet still allow trucks to pass through when needed.Question is, how do I build a home-made speed bump? How do you mold it or whatever you need to do? I need help!

Answer:

I work with extinguishers every day, sometimes training others in their use and maintenance. I recommend that you listen to todvango, his answer is authoritative and correct. Take time to click on that ABC MSDS link he sent you.
Getting a motorcycle licence is different everywhere so I rally can't comment on that. It shouldn't be to hard to find out though with a quick Google search. The main expense other the the motorcycle itself if going to be the riding gear, and being a beginner you will want to have a half decent pair of pants and jacket along with a full helmet, gloves and boots. Just like most things you can pay a little and you can pay allot for this gear but I would expect to pay 500 AT LEAST for everything and that is if you get some good deals. And I'd just like to add in that when buying a motorcycle, do as much research as you can on your purchase, some bikes and bike brands are allot more unreliable than others and the repair costs could outrun your initial purchase if your not careful.
When figuring cost, you should also consider whether you will get a discount on your property insurance by installing the alarm. Some insurers will only give a discount for alarms installed according to UL standards. Others will give discounts regardless of the alarm company, but will give you a better rate for a UL listed alarm company. Call your insurance agent and find out what your situation is. It may be the that a slightly more expensive alarm company works out to cost less overall for you. Good luck!!
