Stop you from growing? Like your height. Because i've been bench pressing since i was 14 and im 17 now and i've been the same height ever since. Could this be why im not growing anymore? I stopped doing squats this year i did them since my freshman year in highschool (i was in football). Maybe that could be why too?
This is a question for your doctor. Weight lifting (heavy weights) is not recomended for young men because it can damage growth plates in the bones.
nope just makes you bigger in the chest.
ur height will depend on ur heredity.bt if u r doing excercise from very early age it will cause ur hight low..
to date there is no medical evidence to support statements that resistance training retards the growth of the human skeletal system. all of the evidence shows that resistance training is nothing but positive for both the young and old
I personally think that, since you're body wasn't done growing (and i doubt that at 17 it is done either...but correct me if i'm wrong ). Im pretty sure the bench pressing would actually just focus on your upper body therefore i doubt it had anything to do with your growth. However squats (if i remember what those are...) do use your lower body. I'd be more concerned with that, I've always been told not to do any kind of Weight lifting or anythin before i was done growing. My father almost had the same problem that you have, he weight lifted young, and never grew up really after 15. Coincidence maybe? meh...
