how much horse power did the 1969 dodge charger rt magnum have
In your question, you asked about the R/T magnum. Since the standard engine in a Charger R/T was the four barrel 440 Magnum and the only other magnum engine option was the 440 Six Barrel. Then the answer would be either 375 for the four barrel, or 390 for the six barrel. The 426 Hemi was not listed as a magnum engine, it was simply the Hemi. Neither the 383 nor any of the small block engines were offered in a Charger R/T in 1969.
In the time it took you to ask your question on here you could of typed it into Google and already had your answer.
DODGE CHARGER 1969 RT HEMI 426 HP 425, that is if all of it is stock!
It may have had a lot back then, but older cars lose horsepower, so it is most likely lower than what everybody else is saying.
Depends on the engine. 383 was 335hp, the 440 370hp and the 426 Hemi was 425. As far as I know, only the street hemi engine was offered - hydraulic cams, cast iron heads, lower compression and those, in non blue printed trim, were rumoured to put out exactly 425hp (not some inflated numbers). When drag racing in NHRA stock eliminator class (fully blue printed engines and 'cheater cams' - same lift and duration but radical profiles + headers) NHRA rates them at 500hp. (or was it 490?) There was a race hemi - 12:1 compression, dual holly carbs, cross ram intake, headers, solid lift cam etc. It was also rated at 425hp (hah!) Cars equipped with this engine had a tag on the ignition key that basically said if you turn the key all warranties are void. Very rare, and cars equiped with that engine typically had skinny/cheap tires on them because they assumed the car was going to be raced and racing tires were to be substituted. NHRA rates them at about 500hp as well. Blue printed, with roller cams and ported heads, the super stocks run 8 second quarter miles. Look at the records for SS/AA - its all Dodge Darts and early Cudas - with Hemis
