Question:

How are roads made through the woods(forest)?

Do lumberjacks cut down every plant in their path,or is there a machine that destroys all the plants?

Answer:

Hi yes trees are felled the roots are dug up along with all the vegetation then a hard core surface is laid down rolled and several layers of hard road surface before kerbs are laid and drainage along with tons of tarmac or concrete.
Mostly dozers and belly scrapers. Maybe a back hoe or two also.
Loggers cut down the trees, bulldozers and various heavy plant machinery go in and remove what is left.Bulldozers go back in and smoothe a path out and then a road crew will go in and tar/asphalt the route, putting in suitable drainage etc.etc.
