Contact an attorney who specializes in employment law and represents employees (not one who reps employers!) and see about instituting suit for discrimination. Also, you can see your Human Rights Commission, but they tend to focus on race/ethnicity and ignore other matters. They should have terminated the poorest performers, or a job classification that was no longer needed, or newest employees (last hired, first fired). Those with children often get more money from unemployment benefits than those without children (even if they have other dependents), are more likely to obtain food stamps and other forms of assistance. This may be discriminatory under state or federal laws. If your performance record is better than those who were kept on, see what you can do.
