These is a dangerous job. Most everyone uses drilled or driven wells these days. In the old days dirt was hauled up by the bucket.
People don' t dig water wells anymore they drill them. It is safer and cheaper. Safer while you are making the well and safer once you are finished. You could hire an oil well drilling rig and have them drill a hole that deep that would be 24 to 36 inches in diameter. You would then have to insert a steel casing to keep the hole from collapsing. Keeping the integrity of the hole will always be your biggest problem. You can rest assured that unless you turn this over to a professional it will not go smoothly.
