I have a wireless remote controlled christmas tree power socket used to turn off and on power to whatever is plugged into it, can i wire an ethernet cable into it so i can turn off and on internet connection through the cable?
You can use it to turn your router on and off, which I have done to reset my wonky router. You can power it from DC power, and power a 4 pole relay that can switch Ethernet, and have it open the two data pair.
Not possible. There is no power on an ethernet cable.
